Last year, Root The Future launched Thailand’s first-ever Plant-Based Food Awards that accumulated over 12,000 public votes. This year, the 2021 Plant-Based Food Awards officially commenced on September 19 with celebrities like Chollada Sirisant, Amata Chittasenee, Maria Poonlertlarp, Sabina Meisinger and Anan Anwar featured in its promo video.
RTF’s mission is to increase exposure and excitement around veganism in Thailand in order to root a healthier and more sustainable society. They do so by producing engaging content, campaigns, and even festivals that promote Thailand’s climate-friendly innovators—with a focus on the plant-based food industry.
Same as last year, this year’s Plant-Based Food Awards winners will be based on the public’s votes. Anyone can vote by inputting their email and nominating brands or restaurants in Bangkok, Chiang Mai or Phuket to 17 different categories. Some of the highly contested categories this year include Best Plant-Based Restaurant, Best Plant-Based Burger, Best Plant-Based Ice Cream and even Best Plant-Based Seafood. (Yes, it’s a thing!)
Voting is open from now until October 31, and the winners will be announced on November 6 at a virtual event with influencers and celebrities. There’s no fee to participate, but there is a chance for a few lucky voters to win 5,000 baht worth of food vouchers to spend at the winning restaurants! So don’t forget to participate and vote for your favorite vegan restaurant or brand.
