Xin Tian Di elegantly blends modern Chinese aesthetics with warm, inviting lighting offering seven private dining rooms, perfect for intimate dinners and special occasions. The culinary journey commences with deep fried prawns dressed in wasabi sauce. The exterior shell offers a satisfyingly crisp snap immediately giving way to the succulent, sweet shrimp within. Wasabi glaze hits with silky consistency and the right degree of piquant flare. Appetisers continue this impressive trajectory. Deep fried taro stuffed with roasted pork is an unassuming masterpiece, taro is rendered light and quite airy, while pork provides a savoury, rustic core, a perfect combination. Crispy eggplant with butter and oatmeal serves as an unexpected dish that is both indulgent and remarkably comforting, a clever preparation that elevates the humble oat. Then arrives the pièce de résistance, Xin Tian Di’s signature barbecued Peking duck. Skin is impossibly crisp, almost breaking under your teeth, slathered in hoisin and wrapped in a thin pancake along with cucumbers, it's a ritualistic dish meant to be savoured. Mains, such as hearty Fukien noodles with shrimp and roasted duck, maintain the quality through simplicity approach. Opt for a pour of elegant chardonnay to smoothly unite the duck richness with the savoury dish notes. Dessert stays true with chilled tapioca and cantaloupe in coconut milk, light and pleasantly sweet.
Head up to the Finishing Post on the 23rd floor after you are done, chamomile sour is recommended.
