Breeza is located beach and poolside within the contemporary newcomer to the island, the Melia hotel. The restaurant extends onto the beach with a large terrace, a bright and vibrant space in oceanic colours. The menu begins with a tempting range of Spanish tapas, reflecting the mothership's origins. This is a perfect starting point, be it classic croquetas de jamon, crunchy croquettes with Spanish ham in a creamy bechamel, or patatas bravas, fried potatoes in hot sauce generously dressed with aioli. Follow with a raw bar dish, for example, a prawn ceviche or a beef carpaccio, both ideal for the hotter climate. Tacos are also on offer, including a moreish corn tortilla with pico de gallo, guacamole and a dynamite salsa roja. The hits don't stop there with an impressive number of pizzas and main dishes of premium grilled meats and seafood, including a chistorra de navarra, a fast cured pork sausage, similar to a chorizo, but once tasted, never forgotten. Combined with mashed potatoes, a match winner. Should you prefer something lighter, there are sandwiches, a wagyu burger and a variety of pasta dishes. There are also many Thai classics, from wok or curry pot. End with a burnt Basque cheesecake. The wine list, cocktails and mocktails offering is comprehensive and worth exploring.
