Appino's Pizza Massilia, now with three branches across Bangkok, has been a stalwart of the Italian dining scene for many years. The restaurants offer a full Italian a la carte menu, but their specialty is authentic pizza, made with 72-hour leavened and matured dough, winning accolades around the world. Begin with a classic eggplant parmigiana, buffalo mozzarella and tomato sauce or a caprese, both will not disappoint. Continue with G pizza from an extensive choice, perhaps a simple burrata and culatello, or one with an adventurous topping of radiccio and gorgonzola, or that wonderfully tasty Italian sausage, salsiccia and friarielli, turnip tops to the less well informed.

Gluten free options are also available. The house signature is luxe calzone, with freshly shaved black truffle, fior di latte mozzarella, smoked scamorza cheese and a runny poached egg for that extra richness. This is a strong recommendation, other mains favourites include tender striploin tagliata and pork chop milanese. To finish, go for a traditional tiramisu, as classic as it gets, or an old-style neapolitan baba with fluffy ethereal zabaglione and vanilla ice cream. A short, exclusively Italian wine list offers both whites and reds at value price points, with a limited choice by glass.
