Review

Elegant and relaxed, Otto is located within the chic and artsy MUU hotel in Eight Thonglor. Lightly decorated with bright Capri lemons and Amalfi-style ceramics, the restaurant emulates the 'dolce vita' feel of the Italian Riviera. An intimate and private space, making for an ideal choice for a business dinner or romantic date.

The menu covers the bases of quintessential Italian cuisine combining quality imported ingredients with talented cooking. First impressions are elevated by the complimentary basket of focaccia and sourdough, warm from the oven. The wild caught Alaskan salmon tartare dressed in a zesty and light sauce, presents a stellar, antipasti. The signature spaghetti all' Aragosta arrives in style, with generous chunks of lobster, while risotto di porcini is enhanced with black truffle shavings and melted Parmesan. For the main dishes, filetto al pepe verde is a highlight of an Australian tenderloin served up meltingly tender inside with a slight crisp around the edges. The accompanying matchstick french-fries and peppercorn sauce make this an unforgettable dish.

The cheese selection should not be overlooked. High quality Italian choices, served with dried fruit and a bread basket make for an enjoyable finale. If the sweet tooth still beckons, the indulgent chocolate lava cake or the tangy mango panna cotta will undoubtedly satisfy.
