Bangkok is certainly not short of lively rooftop dining spots, but LUZ’s recent entry onto the scene with a unique pull factor offering large and comfortable sofas combined with tables, brings a high level of privacy. This lends the venue a more relaxed ambience and sense of escape, often missing from other rooftops. A clever design element and a Barcelona-inspired tapas menu add to the heightened feeling of taking time out. The best way to enjoy the culinary offering is to go for a variety of small plates paired with several signature cocktails. ‘Tuna taki taki rumba’ and catch of the day sashimi make for fresh and light mood-lifters, while Iberico ham sandwiches and croquetas include representations of Spanish cheeses, also providing a heavier dose of staying power. If in need of something more substantial to complete the meal, seafood rice stew will deliver the required generosity, substantial and jam-packed with flavour.
