With a name that translates to 'favourite dish', this casual yet charming Thai eatery on the top floor of Central World's bustling food zone serves authentic, familiar and comforting Thai dishes. The broad menu offers classic dishes with no frills, just simplicity at its best. Start with a serving of signature curry puffs for the table, with either chicken, beef, or mushroom fillings. These are delightfully bite-sized, with warm flavours counter-balanced perfectly with Thai vinaigrette on the side. Platters of relishes and dips are a great starting option. These include namprik yum, a southern-style spicy shrimp paste served with boiled prawn dip, served the traditional way with fried mackerel, boiled eggs, and vegetables. The menu offers everything from curries and stir-fry dishes to noodles and single dishes served with rice. An unmissable curry option is the southern-style yellow crab curry served with rolls of fermented rice noodles, brightly coloured with Thai floral extracts. The signature khao soi chicken noodle soup is also a diner favourite and is executed superbly well. For something very traditional, and less spicy, fried rice with minced pork and Chinese olive will more than satisfy. Treating yourself to a dessert is highly recommended here with options of traditional Thai desserts, western desserts, or Thai-western fusion choices. There truly is something for everyone.
Whilst known for their authentic Thai dishes, the condensed Western menu is well worth a try.
