Issara is the brainchild of celebrated Croatian chef Nikola Lesar who has recently been joined by his younger mixologist brother Filip. Together they have put Issara on the map in terms of creative dishes and bespoke cocktails. The vibe is trendy with an oasis-like terrace and bar area exuding a tropical ambience and a comfortable dining room for a more serene setting. Begin with one of Filip's heady creations, rum based foreigner or herby tequila based sour diesel. To partner this choose a renowned pork belly bao, with multi-layers of flavour which explode on the palate, or choose the same fluffy bao but containing a crunchy, lip-smacking fried chicken variant. Continue with truffle chicken yakitori, perfectly representing Chef Nikola's culinary philosophy of simple cooking, jam-packed with flavour. House specialty mains include five spiced organic duck breast, home smoked with ethereally light mashed potatoes and a rich mulberry and red wine sauce. Another option of home-made pappardelle pasta drizzled with punchy tomato sauce and tossed through with spicy Thai sausage, a flavour bomb. Complete the Issara experience with a unique coconut and Thai rum creme brulee or innovative dark chocolate and matcha lava cake. The wine list has been chosen to represent appropriate wines for the food at value price points
Issara is famed for its A5 Japanese wagyu striploin.
