Review

Recently opened in an iconic villa off Langsuan that is well known to local gastronomes. This latest incarnation, an innovative modern Indian restaurant, transporting diners across the continent in an uber-style. On two floors; the first boasts two elegant chef counters and several comfortable tables. The upper floor offers diners a fabulous vista of the activity below, whilst showcasing stunning artworks. The tasting menu features dishes from all regions, heirloom recipes preserving authenticity, with clever reinterpretation and updated presentation. Chef Sachin and his team have put together incredible Indian flavours, using premium produce, whilst maintaining a principle of creative simplicity. A circular black cod with Bengali kasundi, gondhoraj and in-house pickled ginger buds, sits alone on the plate a perfect example of this ethos; all that is needed. There are several equally stellar supplement courses, including an unforgettable oyster with sol khadi, pickled daikon and compressed turnips and a chargrilled malai chicken, dressed with Parsi barberries. The wine offering, assembled by sommelier Jay, sits currently at a lofty 600 labels; pairings as one would expect, dazzling matches from across the globe.

Craving Indian food in Bangkok? Discover the top Indian restaurants offering unforgettable flavours, beautiful settings and a journey through spice.

Indian cuisine has found a growing audience in Bangkok, with restaurants that deliver a sensory experience straight from the subcontinent. Whether you’re after a quick flavourful bite or an upscale dining experience, these Indian restaurants across the city each bring something special to the table. Here’s a look at the top spots where you can enjoy Indian Food Near Me in Bangkok—each spot packed with flavour and its own spin on timeless recipes.

1/5 Jharokha by Indus: 2nd Floor, Erawan Bangkok

For those seeking a mix of Indian flavours and firepit cuisine, Jharokha by Indus offers an exceptional experience. Situated on the second floor of the Erawan Bangkok building, this restaurant greets guests with an elegant cocktail bar inspired by the sport of polo, the owner’s favourite. The dining area stretches further into the space, complete with a semi-open kitchen where you can catch a glimpse of the culinary magic at work.

Led by Indian chef Sanket Hoskote, Jharokha serves both à la carte and set-course menus, with a focus on dishes prepared in charcoal ovens. The highlight of the menu is the Wagyu Wonder, a fusion of Australian wagyu rib eye and Indian spices cooked to perfection in their Kopa oven. Each bite of this smoky, tender cut of beef is a flavour explosion. It is paired with the restaurant’s house-made chutneys which, like the smoky baingan chokha and the tangy green chilli, bring a depth of flavour that enhances every dish.

With a central location in Bangkok and a focus on blending traditional Indian flavours with international cooking techniques, Jharokha is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the richness of Indian cuisine.

2/5 EKKA Indian Grill and Bar: Surawong

A standout dish here is chicken tikka masala, a classic that doesn’t disappoint. With perfectly spiced, tender chicken and a rich, creamy sauce, it shows the chef’s mastery of flavour and technique. Watch the chefs work their magic in the open kitchen or just settle in with a cocktail. Either way, EKKA makes the everyday feel a bit grander.

3/5 Nila Bangkok: 4th Floor, Amari Bangkok Hotel

Nila Bangkok is where India meets Portugal in a time machine set to Goa. A colonial Goan home, circa 1900, with Fado music and enough charm to make you forget you’re in a hotel.

Under Chef Bharath S Bhat’s watchful eye, the menu offers coastal dishes that’ll make you wonder why anyone bothers with anything else. Whether you enjoy seafood or classic meat dishes, the menu has something for everyone. Notable highlights include peri-peri jheenga: Goan-style flame-grilled prawns and masoli recheado: red snapper with a spicy byadgi chilli and tangy masala. Nila’s combination of cultural influences and top-tier cuisine makes it a destination for anyone seeking an elevated yet authentic Indian dining experience in Bangkok.

4/5 Jhol: Sukhumvit 18

Jhol offers a fresh take on Indian cuisine, with a particular focus on coastal dishes. Helmed by Chef Hari Nayak, it blends traditional regional recipes from the coasts of India with modern techniques and local Thai ingredients.

The restaurant has a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere, perfect for sharing plates with friends or family. The menu is inspired by the regions of Konkan, Malabar, Chettinad and Pondicherry, bringing a unique and diverse range of flavours to the table. Chef Nayak, a Culinary Institute of America graduate, has worked in some of the world’s top restaurants, including New York City’s Daniel. His love for coastal Indian cuisine shines through in every dish.

For those looking for an inventive and contemporary take on Indian food, Jhol is an exciting option. It’s where tradition gets a modern and much-needed refresh.
