This seemingly unassuming hangout spot in Velaa Langsuan has arguably one of the best menus in town for comfort food. Perfect for a catch-up over lunch or a quick weekday dinner, Hoppe feels warm and welcoming at any time of day. The menu involves a balanced fusion of western and Thai cuisines, both classic and familiar. Everything is well-presented, including a simple bruschetta, which combines creaminess and juicy acidity perfectly. Hoppe chicken, a generously sized roasted chicken thigh served in a tasty shimeji mushroom and tarragon cream sauce with a side of crispy sautéed potatoes is highly recommended. For Thai cuisine, there are several treasured favourites of spicy salads, fried rice, and pastas with Thai flavours. Special mention must go to Thai beef stew served with fragrant jasmine rice and topped with a creamy omelette, a dose of nostalgia in its most delicious form. Hoppe offers a concise selection of cakes and tarts for dessert or a sweet afternoon treat.
