Enoteca has been open for more than two decades but it still feels like one of Bangkok’s best kept secrets. The atmosphere is cosy and refined, with rustic wooden beams, soft lighting and an intimate dining room that evokes the charm of a private residence. The kitchen, guided by a philosophy of precision and tradition, serves Italian cuisine with elegance. Each dish is well composed, balancing flavours and modern precision. Chicken liver mousse with coffee gelee is a great first bite, bluefin tuna tartare is immaculately presented revoking the aura of the Mediterranean, pigeon ravioli and lamb saddle with black garlic and artichoke are impeccably presented. Dessert is somewhat indulgent with chocolate and hazelnut krokant that lingers long on the palate well after dinner is over. The wine list is curated through the regions of Italy from well-loved labels to rare vintages, reflecting the passion and expertise of patron-owner Nico, whose dedication to hospitality is felt in every detail of the restaurant. His presence adds a personal touch that elevates the dining experience, turning guests and regulars into friends. Service is on the warm side. Enoteca and its cosy atmosphere succeeds not by chasing trends but by perfecting the essentials: excellent food, a world-class Italian wine programme, and heartfelt hospitality and it remains a benchmark of Italian cuisine in Bangkok.
