Review

Tucked away at the Sivana Gardens estate, Eat@Sivana is part of the rather grand club house. The restaurant is elevated on the verandah, just high enough to catch the breeze, making it airy and comfortable. Chef Bobby, from New Delhi, has been in Thailand for many years and his passion remains in preparing a number of North Indian favourites in authentic style. Diners are spoilt for choice, with a large range of biryanis, curries and tandoori dishes on offer. Starters include an interesting masala poppadum smothered in onions and tomatoes or a generous vegetable samosa with all the trimmings of mint, pickled onions and mango chutney. For main course, bhuna gosht is a mutton dish with a slight kick to it or a big kick if you ask, but with a mix of garlic, ginger, coriander and turmeric in the ingredients, the dish is packed with exciting flavours. For a change of pace, choose a classic butter chicken, a rich and creamy option with particularly succulent pieces of meat, accompanied by garlic naan. There is a small dessert menu with gulab jamun or kulfi on offer, both are sweet and satisfying. Drinks include a choice of local beers and white or red wine by glass or bottle.
