The Devasom Beach Grill and Bar sits within the Devasom Khao Lak; with a rustic outdoor dining terrace and breathtaking views of the seascape beyond, there are few more idyllic settings. The menu is a medley of Mediterranean and Italian dishes. Start with seared scallops on a bed of silky pumpkin puree, peppery rocket salad, and confit lemon cutting through the richness of the American scallop, dressed with shavings of fresh Parmesan or choose Andaman lobster bisque, finished with brandy, adding an extra layer of flavour. Mediterranean platters of varying sizes for sharing, consisting of imported charcuterie, cheeses, breads, dried fruits, and nuts, and an earthy mushroom cappuccino, hot creamy soup, topped with an ethereally light foam and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, are highly recommended. Continue with pasta from a multitude of options and sauces, from traditional carbonara with bacon and vongole with clams to aglio e olio of black olives, dried chili, and basil leaves with locally caught lobster. Mains showcase Australian black Angus, tenderloin, striploin, or ribeye, served with a choice of sides and sauces; accompany with home-cut fries and a viscous red wine reduction scented with rosemary. Fish dishes include grilled seabass with Matsutake mushrooms, and an outstanding chargrilled tuna with avocado salsa. Desserts include a notable crème brulee with buttered banana and crispy banana.
