Crust is a typical rustic trattoria, the type invariably found at the centre of Italian suburbs. Located in a charming Sino­ Portuguese terrace, and opened almost ten years ago by Phuket natives Nattanee Unsaen and husband, Chef Premin Kamphee. The couple had returned from culinary training in Europe and the menu reflects their background with not only Italian favourites, but also occasional Mediterranean influences. The menu offers extensive choices beginning with a tempting array of salads, bruschetta and an antipasti and cheese platter.

Continuing with comforting classic pastas showcasing accomplished talent in replicating authentic versions of puttanesca, carbonara and alfredo. However, the go to is the pizza section. With a wood-fired oven, the name of this charming eatery is well reflected in the quality of these creations; moreish thin crunchy crusts. Choose from traditional, caprese, margherita or calabrese or throw caution to the wind with a saporita or perhaps one of the olive oil and mozzarella based white pizzas; one with gorgonzola, onions and walnuts or one with a successful marriage of smoked salmon and brie. Truly exceptional and a testament to this restaurant's popularity. A tiramisu is a fitting end. Drinks range from fresh smoothies to a concise but carefully-chosen wine list.
