When Shin went to Japan in 2012 on an exchange programme, he was stunned to find a totally different education system, where instructors used smart technology and applications as a tool for teaching. Coming back to Thailand and joining the non-profit Teach for Thailand, he noticed that every student had a smartphone loaded with applications, but none for learning. That spurred him to get into edtech. Promoting the idea through a chatbot, he was eventually endowed with 2 million baht in seed money from the government to launch Vonder. With further investment from Disrupt and Stormbreaker and a clear business model, the service grew exponentially, and soon the company had created Vonder Flash, Vonder Jump and Vonder Gold as interactive platforms for different target groups that use gaming as a teaching tool. Since its launch in late 2018, Vonder has successfully delivered new ways of learning to 5,000+ classrooms in Thailand. Shin is an ambassador for One Young World, representing Thailand at the Summit in 2015.
