On December 14, 2022, The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon celebrated its grand opening with a Festival of Music to officially mark the arrival of The Standard’s Asia flagship in the Thai capital in the most memorable way possible. The tradition of Standard Sounds was observed through performances ranging from local rising stars to international legends, and everyone who is anyone in Bangkok gathered at the hotel that evening to be a part of it.

The party kicked off with some ‘90s hip hop beats in The Parlor, driven by one of the most prominent players in New York’s underground radio scene, Stretch Armstrong, and East Coast legend Rich Medina. Meanwhile, the pool was converted into a neon-lit, world-class stage with cocktails and legalized cannabis served from the ornate pool bar. Here, guests soaked up live performances of new-generation jazz courtesy of rising talents from the Onyx Collective.

On the terrace of The Standard's Grill, the entertainment was only just beginning with a scintillating performance by New York burlesque icon Dita Von Teese, in a giant martini glass. From there, The Grill transformed into an elevated cocktail party of endless champagne and signature creations. As the party moved to The Club for the rest of the evening, the dance floor came alive with sets from DJ Alex from Tokyo and legendary American music producer Diplo.
