Introducing a new six-part series that goes into the daily lives of Thai chefs as they prepare food for their guests

Thailand’s Favourite Restaurants, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), introduces “Culinary Gems of Thailand”, a new six-part series that ventures into the daily lives of some of Thailand’s most acclaimed chefs as they prepare food for their guests, from market to table.

Today, Nigel and Natalie join chef Kannika at Phra Nakhon restaurant, which sits riverside at the Capella Bangkok hotel. Using ingredients fresh and locally-sourced, the chef and her team prepare dishes with an authentic edge.

First, Nigel helps chef Kannika harvest fresh greens from Capella’s extensive hotel vegetable garden. They then regroup in the private dining room, with Natalie joining Nigel to watch chef Kannika quickly get to work on two tasty meals. As she stirs in coconut milk and other spices, chef Kannika reveals the strong familial focus in her cooking and how it brings authenticity to every dish she plates. With chef Kannika's lovely heart for food, who would not want to sit down and eat a meal from Phra Nakhon?
