Grisbi is a wine bar restaurant on Sukhumvit Soi 20 serving classic French and Mediterranean food. The menu shifts between tapas-style plate and proper mains, giving you room to build a meal. Start with Galicia anchovy tartine for something savoury and bracing, the anchovies lending deep umami to toasted bread. Fines de claire oysters arrive fresh and cold, briny and bright, served with classic mignonette and Thai seafood sauce on the side. The pairing gives you sharp French acidity on one side and sweet-spicy Thai on the other, two ways to approach the same oysters. Slow-cooked cod loin comes with artichokes, olives, sun-dried tomatoes and a light oyster sauce that brings everything together without covering the fish’s delicate flavour. For meat, there’s Iberico pork chop with Dijon mustard, gherkins and potato gratin. The mustard’s sharpness and the pickles' tang cut through the pork’s richness whilst the gratin adds creamy weight. Crêpes suzette for dessert gets flambéed tableside with Grand Marnier and served with vanilla ice cream. Butter, orange and caramel with a bit of theatre. Boozy citrus cuts through the richness whilst ice cream cools it all down. Grisbi also offers sharing platters that range from a simple aperitivo board to build-your-own cheese selections, plus a one-metre social board made for groups.
For groups, go for the one-metre social board. Smaller tables should start tapas style with oysters and anchovy tartine before moving to mains.
