La Gritta, one of Phuket’s premier Italian restaurants, sits on the edge of the Andaman Sea overlooking Patong Bay. This iconic bistro offers authentic cuisine from different regions of Italy. Chef Giordano Roscini brings the flavours of his native Umbria to the menu with influences by Sicilian Andrea Bonuomo the resident maestro and manager, as together they present an unforgettable symphony of tastes. The cocktail list invites diners to taste a sling with Italian gin, Campari, cherry herring, lemon cordial, vanilla syrup and orange juice or imported Menabrea lager and Baladin Nazionale Italian craft beers. Perfect with the antipasti of imported Italian cold cuts and distinctive cheeses, marinated eggplant in extra virgin olive oil and capsicum stuffed with tuna, fig jam and honey. The dinner menu has an irresistible selection of fresh pastas with rock lobster, blue crab or Italian sausage fillings enhanced by fresh truffle in a creamy Parmesan sauce or rich and flavourful river prawn bisque. The menu degustazione features five distinctive courses each matched with a thoughtfully chosen wine. Selections include pan-seared sea scallops with Sicilian butter-lemon emulsion, delicate handmade ravioli stuffed with Andaman blue crab and main course choice of grilled wagyu tenderloin or king salmon finished by silky Madagascar vanilla bean panna cotta served with fresh berries, balsamic caviar and sesame tuile.
