Located on the ground floor of the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, Dine in the Dark turns the familiar dining ritual into something unexpectedly sensory. Here, vision is switched off so your remaining senses step into the spotlight. Guests are ushered into a pitch-black dining room. From there, visually impaired staff lead the journey, offering attentive and warm guidance throughout. Diners can choose from four four-course menus, including Asian, Western, vegetarian and a surprise option. All menus change every three months and are curated by the hotel’s award-winning culinary team. The recent European-inspired tasting menu begins with three delicate bites of seared scallop with green pea sauce, apple coleslaw and potato croquettes. Pumpkin soup with a drizzle of truffle oil arrives alongside arancini, where earthy soup meets creamy centre of crispy risotto balls. Duck breast in orange reduction is paired with fried sago, mashed potato, tender baby carrots and salmon with crispy skin and green pea purée, bringing together rich, silky and crunchy elements as each component reveals itself. The meal concludes with passion fruit cheesecake, chocolate millefeuille and raspberry mousse. To gently ease the unfamiliarity of the darkness, soft jazz plays in the background, setting the tone for a calm evening where sight is not a concern. Upon leaving, staff provide explanations and photographs of each dish.
Check out the Surprise option, featuring a combination of dishes from across all tasting menus.
