Although there are just 10-12 seats, Plant Passion should be viewed as an integral part of the EKM 6 project promoting kindness and healthy living in a pet friendly neighbourhood mall setting. The menu features vegan interpretations of classic Asian dishes with focus on Thai favourites. Ingredients are organic and vegetables are fresh from local farms. Protein replacements are visually authentic and sufficiently flavourful to differentiate between dishes on offer. Stir fried crispy pork is glazed to resemble the non-plant version and pleasingly crunchy to replicate the essence of Esan style pork. Stir fried duck genuinely resembles its animal counterpart with the soya-based strip nicely coloured and juicy enough to mix well with basil and chilli rice. Tom yum quinoa presents well and proves that neither shrimp or broth is essential to pull this dish off. A variety of Indian, Korean, Chinese and other Asian items, with Japanese style fried dumplings being a nice dish to start, round out the menu. Of the two desserts on offer, monk pumpkin in coconut sauce is a combination of chewy sweetness that feels just right for a wholesome finish. A variety of soft drinks and Thai beers are available and staff are more than happy to walk over the way to procure any number of cocktails, craft beers and wines if needed.
