Located in Sukhumvit 33, Sri Trat presents memories of Eastern Thai cuisine shaped by motherly love. Rooted in Trat province traditions, the menu reflects the town’s natural charm and balanced flavours with a gentle sweetness. Exposed brick and timber floors ground a rustic, elegant space, while a Warhol–inspired mural of the owner’s mother anchors the dining hall. Begin with deep-fried squid from Koh Chang, purposefully dried until its flavour concentrates, and fried until the edges crisp. Each bite carries a briny chew and a faint natural sweetness. Trat’s signature kuai tiao sen chan phat pu nim noodles offer a hint of wok smoke, while soft-shell crab brings crunch and sweetness in one bite, and tamarind sauce adds a rustic, polished touch. Kaeng mu chamuang, is pork belly softened in chamuang stew that leans sweet and sour while leaves add a subtle, sharp tamarind note. The impressive khai chiao cha-om nam phrik kapi, is a climbing wattle omelette complemented by shrimp chili paste, allowing the strong flavour of cha-om to shine. End on a sweet, sumptuous note with saku maprao on namtan oi, a Thai childhood classic of warm, chewy tapioca pearls in creamy coconut milk, rich and comforting in every sense. The wine list is substantial, and Thai-infused cocktails, such as mai tai or bussaba pomegranate, are well-crafted.
Definitely don’t miss the iconic “mom’s favourite” dishes.
