Ari is due for another cool hangout! Peeps & Pals are hosting their very first event, creating that “friends making art together” vibe, and Ari is the perfect backdrop for that. Now in the roomy AIS Fibre House, Peeps & Pals: Ari’s Alley has all kinds of creative activities lined up: painting vinyl records, making cassette tapes, guitar lessons and live shows from rising Thai artists Praesun, Paiinntt and WIM. These activities are fun on their own, but even better with new friends.

5/14 RRR Rookie Reuse Recycle Chapter 5: Old Town Road

This weekend at Tha Phra Athit, right by the Chao Phraya River, over 20 handpicked vendors are taking over the space. Expect cool clothing, pretty jewellery and handmade arts and crafts all carefully curated (so no, it’s not just anybody setting up shop). The musical vibe? It’s Thai funk – yes, it’s as cool as it sounds – and molam. But it’s not just about shopping. There’s also a guided Old Town exploration, though the details are being kept under wraps, so you’ll have to show up to find out.

6/14 F-Holes – Jason Montinola

A solo exhibition by Filipino artist Jason Montinola, F-Holes can be described as a series of moving portraits of a single character conceived by him back in 2006. She is a “sentinel of music” whose origins are murky. Montinola’s paintings capture the many moods she embodies as music flows through her, transforming her in ever-renewing ways. Through each iteration viewers come to understand her more deeply. And like all great art the works invite personal interpretation. Strict definitions can only go so far.

7/14 Joel Mesler Exhibitions

Venues: Harper’s Bangkok, Patumwan; Central Chidlom

Harper’s Bangkok at Siam Patumwan House opens on 30 March with the Lost and Found exhibition of American contemporary artist Joel Mesler. This marks his first presentation in Southeast Asia and will run until 30 April. Concurrently Central Chidlom will be holding The Experience exhibition also by Mesler. Here, guests can explore an immersive, sensory art experience, where emotions are expressed through vibrant colors, complete with a playground and an interactive balloon installation. At night, façade art will be projected, turning Central Chidlom into a kind of open-air art space. There will also be gelato from Good Licks, if you’re currently obsessed with the recent gelato craze.

8/14 Thai Tay Flea Market

The Thai Tay Culture theme is back and so is your excuse to wander aimlessly through a flea market. Expect lively alleys, people on a shopping mission and booths full of cool little knick-knacks. Blame the night air – and the music!

Bangkok Art Walk returns for the third time and with each edition, it feels a little more magical. Yes, we all like art, but sometimes we don’t want to see finished pieces (the kind housed in galleries across Bangkok); we want to see ones in the making. After all, what is art if not a living process, constantly changing and evolving? Well, you can do just that this weekend (and the next, too). Tha Maharaj feels quaint enough for this kind of artistic gathering, and it’s not just painters either. There will also be photographers, artists and jewellery designers present.
