Virgin Active Thailand Puts Real Wellness in the Spotlight

Virgin Active Thailand Puts Real Wellness in the Spotlight

Forget the pressure of picture-perfect fitness goals – social wellness club Virgin Active Thailand is inviting people to embrace wellness in a way that feels real, sustainable and empowering.

Today’s fitness culture is shifting. More people are turning away from extreme workouts and rigid routines, choosing instead to focus on balance, mental wellbeing and sustainable health. It’s less about pushing harder – and more about feeling better, mentally and physically. Looking at the Thai trend, Virgin Active’s latest wellness survey reveals that 71% of Thais plan to prioritise their health and wellbeing this year. Additionally, 78% say self-care is now their top wellness priority, underscoring a broader shift towards a more mindful and holistic approach to fitness.

It’s the perfect moment to make wellness a priority. Embracing this evolving mindset, Virgin Active Thailand introduces a fresh take on fitness through its new global direction, Where Wellness Gets Real. Launched in late 2024, the campaign moves beyond superficial goals to highlight expert-led holistic wellness that supports the mind, body and lifestyle. In Thailand, this vision comes to life through the Real Wellness My Way campaign – highlighting real stories from members who’ve made meaningful changes by focusing on what matters most to them.

Meet the Faces of Real Wellness

“We introduced our Real Wellness Ambassadors because Thai consumers are demanding something more meaningful,” says Julien Bera, Country Director of Virgin Active Thailand and Singapore. “Real wellness isn’t about a one-size-fits-all formula — it’s about guiding people towards their own personal, fulfilling journey.”

Chosen through a nationwide search, the members are Nawabhorn Rungsri, Panuphan Sukpiti, Supakarn Apinantakorn and Torkiat Chomphoobut. Each one brings their own perspective, highlighting personal journeys shaped by consistency, balance and a more mindful approach to wellness, as Koktail discovers through their stories.

Wellness, Redefined for a New Generation

The Real Wellness My Way campaign brings a mini-docuseries that follows the Ambassadors’ journeys, offering a light, honest and relatable glimpse into what living well looks like in everyday life. It offers a refreshing twist on the new trend of exercising for a new generation.

“Wellness isn’t just about looking good. It’s about feeling connected to yourself,

finding fulfilment and letting go of the pressure to be perfect,” says Supakarn

Apinantakorn.

Supakarn reflects through his journey that chasing what doesn’t align with your body is not beneficial. It’s about tuning into your body, finding joy in movements that feel good and making time for mental health, nutrition and connection. Everyone is different and exercise should be tailored to each individual’s body and health needs.

“Wellness isn’t about pushing ourselves to the limit, it’s about listening to ourselves and taking care in all areas of life,” shares Nawabhorn Rungsri.

For Nawabhorn, wellness is about embracing a sustainable, self-aware approach that prioritises how you feel, rather than chasing perfection or giving in to pressure. As for a new generation, it’s about making choices that support your overall wellbeing – from getting enough rest and eating nourishing food to moving in ways that feel good, maintaining emotional balance and fostering meaningful connections.

No More One-Size-Fit All Fitness

As the four ambassadors share their journeys, the key takeaway is that real wellness is about finding what works best for you. These Ambassadors prove that wellness has no one-size-fits-all approach and there’s no single path to achieving it.

Panuphan Sukpiti hopes to encourage others to let go of the pressure to conform and start creating a version of wellness that feels right for them, one that’s grounded in joy, sustainability and personal meaning.

And Torkiat Chomphoobut offers a heartfelt reminder that wellness belongs to everyone, no matter where they begin. It’s not about doing it perfectly — it’s about listening to yourself, honouring your pace and finding what feels right for your body and mind.

A Movement to Watch

What Virgin Active Thailand is doing goes beyond just workouts. It’s about bringing wellness to everyone, with real voices leading the way. By flipping the script on traditional fitness, Virgin Active makes wellbeing more approachable, enjoyable and personal, making it a real wellness at its core. From relaxing in a sleep pod or the Himalayan salt room to challenging yourself on the climbing wall, there’s something for everyone. The variety of classes, including reformer pilates, yoga, high-intensity training and cardio, are designed to suit different needs and levels. In addition, calming experiences like sound baths and the aqua spa pool plus support from certified experts allow Virgin Active to create a space where wellness fits into real life.
