From its wines and other grape-based products to the guided tours of its winery, Monsoon Valley has made a name for itself as one of the go-to destinations for oenophiles. Established in the Hua Hin countryside, the vineyard is one of the most successful Asian wine producers, producing a selection of wines and non-alcoholic grape juices for both local and international consumption. In fact, many leading restaurants and five-star hotels in the country serve Monsoon Valley’s by the glass.
Enter Alex Albon. At the age of 26, Albon became Thailand’s first F1 driver in 65 years. In 2019, he debuted his career in the Tosso Rosso team and by 2020, he came in third place at the Tuscan Grand Prix, becoming the first-ever Thai driver to achieve a podium finish. This year, he returns to F1 under Williams Racing, one of the most prestigious teams in the field. The team has produced F1 legends such as Keke Rosberg, Nigel Mansell, and Alain Prost, all of whom became world champions under Williams Racing.
This is why the partnership between the two is very interesting, as it unites two of Thailand’s renowned experts in their respective fields. As a brand ambassador, Alex now has the role of promoting Monsoon Valley’s non-alcoholic beverages, with the company logo displayed on his racing helmet and overalls.
“We are delighted to partner with Alex, one of Thailand’s most prominent sportsmen,” said Varit Yoovidhya, Siam Winery’s assistant managing director. “Alex’s passion for continuous improvement and relentless pursuit of excellence are values that unite and inspire us to never give up, and his journey to the highest levels of motorsport has inspired Thai youths and athletes everywhere. As part of Siam Winery’s commitment to supporting Thailand’s motorsport ambitions, we are thrilled to have Alex on board as a brand ambassador and for him to proudly display Monsoon Valley’s logo when he races on the global stage.”
Alex also commented that it is an honour to be named brand ambassador on the 20th anniversary of Monsoon Valley. “As a proud Thai, I feel deeply privileged to represent my country when I travel around the world.” He said, “Every time I put on my helmet and step into the car, I am racing for Thailand. It feels fantastic to be able to support and promote Monsoon Valley, a home-grown world-class Thai brand. Racing in Formula 1 is a dream come true, and I hope that I can encourage even more Thai boys and girls to achieve their dreams in the future.”
