Sitting amidst the beautifully crafted wooden and copper decor and overlooking a uniquely picturesque cove, Age exudes a feeling of antiquarian decadence, conjuring a serene atmosphere to indulge in the modern grill house cuisine. The attention to detail extends from the restaurant's design to the impeccable service through to the stylish presentation of every dish. Blue swimmer crab salad is a fine starting point, with the generous serving wrapped in a delicate crepe, supported by caviar and seaweed to give a fresh, straight-from-the-sea sensation. Seared duck foie gras is served on baguette with a side of bone marrow gravy. The added kumquat and fine apple puree play off perfectly with their meaty partners. Jasper grilled octopus tentacle has a charcoal infused, intense barbeque flavour, cradled in a cauliflower espuma foam. Diced chorizo finishes off the dish perfectly. Age's signature beef cheeks fall meltingly off the fork, sparring with a potato puree, charred onion and anchovy crumble. Notable desserts include rocher hazelnut creme brulee and passion fruit, coconut, and mango tart.
