Pokémon Launches its First High Fashion Collab with Balmain

Where nostalgia, pop culture, and high fashion meet

Pokémon has officially stepped into the world of luxury, debuting its first ever collab with Balmain: the Pokémon x Balmain Trainer Fashion Set collection.

The Parisian fashion house has incorporated its signature labyrinth design with Pokémon’s playful style, awiths Pikachu (of course) in the spotlight. Olivier Rousteing of Balmain has shared his love for Pokémon, saying that its bright pop aesthetic and captivating creatures has always appealed to him. The collection reminds him of an earlier, simpler time when we all shared a rose-tinted vision of the positive changes digital innovations would bring.

Pikachu prints are everywhere within the collection, along with the labyrinth pattern appearing across sweaters, tank tops, graphic shirts, flared track pants, denim jackets, sling bags, and even card holders. One of their standout pieces is certainly Balmain’s B-Bold sneakers, designed in the color palette of the iconic Poké Ball—yellow, red, black, and cream.

On the digital front, Balmain has partnered with SharpEnd to release 15 NFC-enabled Pokémon tags in select Balmain stores across the USA, Europe, and Asia, which will grant customers access to a unique dual-partnership experience. Customers will get a chance to win VIP tickets to the upcoming Balmain Festival during Paris Fashion Week, and gain immediate access to the Balmain Fashion set in Pokémon UNITE.

The “Pokémon x Balmain Trainer Fashion Set” is now available on Balmain’s website. The capsule can also be digitally accessed through the Pokémon UNITE app.
